Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?Yes! Check to ensure that your passport will still be valid at the time of the wedding, if not you may need to apply for expedited renewal. You may also hear about the new "Real ID" requirement for US domestic travel, which should not be necessary with your valid passport.
-
What’s the best way to get to Oaxaca?Direct flights are available from Los Angeles (LAX) and Houston (IAH). Otherwise, connect through Mexico City (MEX).
-
Will transportation be provided to the venue? No, but the venue is walkable from the historic center. Taxis and colectivos (shared taxis) are also available, but many of the roads will be closed due to the festival. We recommend staying within walking distance.
-
What accommodation options are available?Check our Accommodations map for recommended places to stay. There are many incredible choices in the historic center of the city within walking distance of our event venues. We highly recommend booking your stay in this area!
-
What is the dress code for the wedding?Wear something that makes you feel fun, festive and wonderful! Oaxaca is warm (mid 70s) in July but can be cool down at night. It's the rainy season, so there can be spontaneous rainstorms that last an hour or so, so be prepared! Avoid high heels if you're not comfortable walking on cobblestone streets.
-
What will the weather be like?Expect daytime temperatures around 70-75°F, with occasional afternoon rain showers. Bring an umbrella or light rain jacket. Evenings will be cooler.
-
When should I RSVP?Please RSVP by March 24, 2025, to help us finalize the celebrations.
-
Is the wedding child-friendly?Yes! Our daughter Audrey would love for friends of all ages to join. Please include all attendees in your RSVP.
-
Are dietary restrictions accommodated? We’ve planned a menu with options for a wide variety of different diets in mind. Oaxacan food is very diverse and offers great vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
-
What currency is used in Oaxaca?Mexican Pesos (MXN). Most places accept credit cards, but having cash for taxis and markets is recommended.
-
Who should I contact for additional questions?Feel free to reach out to either Inti or Blaine through our wedding e-mail address or via text.
-
Should I attend the Guelaguetza Festival? The festival will be happening all over the city, so by being there you will be attending it! Daily parades, performance, art, craft and food markets will be happening all around the Centro Historico. There are paid events (mostly dance performances) in the pavilion. We did not attend those, and didn't feel like we were missing out. For more information visit our About Oaxaca page, and here is the official site for the festival.
